Mat Alancheril, Director of UX & Design
For Mat, UX is his calling, creating is his passion and coffee is his fuel. He got a healthy dose of all three at companies like Frog and Amazon and developed a keen interest for data-driven, predictive UX at Predixion Software.
Mat got an early start in User Experience design: before the Web was a thing. Trained as a traditional graphic designer with roots in brand development, he fell in love with Interaction Design while working on the GUI of a stereo for frog design in 1994. He is excited to have found a career that uses both sides of his brain.
Mat is a creative problem solver and has worked the full stack of User Experience: strategy, analysis, visual design, interaction design and information architecture. His breadth of expertise working with both consumer and enterprise brands provides a basis for empathic design for all types of humans. And his experience in consulting and development environments at startups and large companies makes him comfortable in any environment.
At frog, Mat lead teams on projects for companies like SAP, Microsoft, and SBC. While at Amazon, Mat carved out his own niche of “Brand Experience” and collaborated on projects across the company. He took leadership of design for the home page (the Gateway) for the US and international sites and helped improve performance and established design guidelines for one of the most valuable pieces of real estate on the Internet. Mat’s experience at Predixion Software lead him to a whole new way of thinking about predictive UX and data-driven design
